I worked on VCU’s flagship recruitment campaign, Make it real, for two years. In that time I wrote copy for print, web, display, video, audio, and ambient. It was a great responsibility and felt great because I’d taught there and I’d graduated from one of the programs.

Make it real. 2017-18

We picked stories of students, teachers, and graduates who were doing amazing things with and because of their time at VCU and showcased them in all the media channels. In addition to writing much of this campaign, I also got to coach talent for the 30 second video spot we made.

Make it real. 2019

This year, we focused on showing how students from all over the university were moving forward. When the video production team suggested this walking concept, we knew we’d found a great way to talk about everything VCU has to offer that was visually stimulating.
